Our first morning in Varanasi, my friend Angie and I ventured out on our own away from the tour group. We decided to set out in search of street food for breakfast. It only took crossing the street from our hotel to find a little stall set up frying breads and serving hot Indian veggies. Multiple locals were eating here, so we decided to try it out. Agra & Khajuraho: Tombs, Temples, Forts, and Holi Festival
As we continued on our India trip with Gate 1 Travel, we headed to Agra for the Taj Mahal (obviously!), the Agra Fort, the Baby Taj... and lucky for us, it happened to be the holiday of Holi! After Agra we traveled on to Khajuraho to check out some amazing Hindu temples, some displaying erotic visions of the Karma Sutra. Jaipur – The Pink City of India
It took almost 7 hours in our bus to reach Jaipur from New Delhi. The journey was filled with plenty of traffic, honking, and cows started appearing in the streets just outside the city of Delhi. We stopped and watched a few men with carts selling bananas for the macaque monkeys surrounding them. People buy and feed the bananas to the monkeys.. as well as a few cows hanging around. India… First Stop Delhi
Delhi was the first stop on our trip to India. After years of talking about it, a co-worker/friend and I finally made it to India. We started our trip with a tour with Gate 1 Travel which led us through Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Khajuraho, and Varanasi. Then we headed to Rishikesh on our own.
